One of the results of living in a constitutional republic that is based on the capitalistic enterprise system is that we are very market driven. Many churches today rely on their ability to "market" their church rather than truly relying on the Holy Spirit of God to change the hearts and lives of people who are at odds with God. One of the recent marketing trends in the church is the so-called "seeker" friendly church. The philosophy is that a church should design itself in a way that it is appealing to those that are "seeking" God. The problem with this philosophy is that it can not be found in the scriptures. As a matter of fact, scripture teaches the exact opposite. Romans 3:10-12 - "As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one." It is quite obvious from this passage that many in Christendom have a misconception of the true meaning of a "seeker" friendly church. If a church is truly seeker friendly, then its first goal is to be friendly to the scriptual Seeker. Scriptually, rebels against God are not seeking Him, but a Holy God is out seeking them. HE is the seeker. Will you come join us as we endeavor to be friendly with the true Seeker?
